Martha’s Vineyard Styled Shoot

Happy rainy day Monday! It’s the perfect day to sit and reflect back on some of the amazing things we have done over the past few months. We were able to be a part of an unforgettable styled shoot this past summer. We are so proud to say that they have been published in Well Wed, Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard edition! We have been waiting to share these images with you for a while and it is finally time…
We met Julia Bushe, the photographer,  last year through a mutual friend who knew we both shared a tremendous love for Martha’s Vineyard. We met one day for coffee on the Vineyard and an idea was born. We planned a Styled Shoot for the end of that summer and it was a true labor of love. There are few places in the world that intoxicate your soul the way Martha’s Vineyard does. Without a bridge or tunnel to connect to this island, visitors must arrive by ferry or plane. In doing so, you are forced to leave behind the hustle and bustle of life and enter a quiet simplicity surrounded by natural beauty. It is truly a feeling that can’t be described.
The opportunity to merge two things we love the most was a dream come true, weddings and the Vineyard. Our model, Kathryn, luckily agreed to spend the day with us. She was instrumental in the success of the day. We decided on two locations and two different looks. Every town on the island offers a different landscape and different feel than the other. All beautiful and pristine. Chilmark is a popular destination wedding spot and it was so hard to pick one area. We decided to first visit the 300 year-old fishing village of Menemsha, world famous for fresh, off the boat seafood, and breathtaking sunsets. On a busy summer day it was no easy feat to get in and shoot. Beachgoers, fishermen and townspeople crowded the docks as we set up to shoot and the experience was overwhelming. Menemsha is the perfect backdrop for any wedding. It has such a casual elegance to it and Kathryn’s vintage gown from Etsy was the perfect choice. She was simply perfect!
After a quick change, we were off to Aquinnah and the clay cliffs of Gay Head. Aquinnah is on the south side of the island and home to the most beautiful, multi-colored clay cliffs that cascade down into the ocean. It is truly breathtaking. The pictures do the talking for this spot. Kathryn wore a more formal destination gown from Chantilly’s Bridal on Cape Cod. Her gorgeous floral crown and garland was filled with brightly colored ranunculus and stunning beach roses. The final pictures were shot as the sun was setting. It was a magical day all around and we are so excited to share these photos with you.
